HOW I WORK
Technical teams know the system. Employees know their day-to-day work. My role is to connect the two through communication people can use.
Gather technical input, clarify what people need to know, and identify the questions that need answers.
Match the message, timing, and channel to each group’s needs and level of impact.
Turn complex information into emails, guidance, surveys, and supporting materials with clear actions.
Work with subject matter experts to refine content and create ways for users to share their experience.
ABOUT MARLEE
Since October 2023, I’ve worked in IT Engagement at Sam Houston State University, helping translate technology information into communication for faculty, staff, and students.
As the communications specialist on cross-functional project teams, I bring an audience perspective to technical conversations. I gather input, refine language, organize information, and create materials that help people understand and respond to change.
I’m interested in internal communications, employee enablement, and AI adoption, especially work that helps people feel more capable using unfamiliar tools.
